Welcome to Wanstead Model Flying Club

Wanstead Model Flying Club are a long established model flying club in inner London.

The site is at Centre Road Wanstead E11.Opposite the fairground site. See map below.

We are extremely friendly and you are most welcome to come along and talk to us.

We have our own club trainer with a buddy box and several BMFA approved instructors and examiners. We are committed to helping others young and old to participate in such an enjoyable sport.

Our busiest day is usually on a Sunday when we bring along our club caravan providing some necessary refreshments for our club members. At weekends you will find us there from 1pm till dusk On weekdays we fly from 10.30am . No flying is allowed on Thursdays.

FREE PRIZE DRAW.

A FREE raffle ticket will be given to every member that attends the club meetings. The prize draw for this will take place at the AGM 2008, and the prize will be 1 years free club membership plus other prizes to be announced.

So remember the more meetings that you can attend the more chances you will have to win.

Race Night

Held on Wed 5th March 2008, the indoor helicopter flying competition proved to be extremely In first place and the winner of one of these superb indoor helicopters was our Chairman Mark Young

Helicopter Competition

Held on Sunday 30th March was organised by our Social/Events secretary Carl Clark.

Carl had laid out a limbo and slalom course, which proved to be great fun for those that took part.

The winner with the fastest time was Chris Smith pictured below with his prize, a set of 30 size heli blades. Well done Chris!

Membership Enquiries

As at 18/03/08 the club is now full.

Places for new members will not be available until next Jan 2009.

Wings and Wheels Spectacular

The club will once again have a stand on the flight line at this fantastic show. All members are welcome to come along to the stand where you can sell your models at a small commission to the club,

or just pop by to say hello.
